The Friends of PWPS
Who are The Friends?
All of us!
As a regsitered charity we have to have elected ‘officers’ to fill the roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Current incumbents are as follows:
What do we do?
Raise money for the school and provide a social focus.
There are events that we put on every year such as termly school discos and cake sales, a
Christmas Fayre and of course we help with the school Summer Fete.
Then we put on other events which vary. Over the years, there have been race nights, car boot sales and pamper evenings.
A lot of parents already help out at many of the events and are friends to the school in many other ways, whether helping with reading in school or being a helper on school trips.
We’ve called it ‘bitesize’ as you don’t need to be ‘on the committee’ or come to lots of meetings. There are many ways you could support, for example,
Be a willing pair of hands – help out on the day e.g serve drinks at the disco, plate up cakes for the cake sale, help on a stall at the summer fete…
Help organize – e.g. help plan one of the summer events or run the cake sale
Put on an event – we have space for smaller events throughout the year, come and talk to us if you have an idea
Become a class rep – be a point of contact – you just have to talk to other parents in the playground!
Like to get involved?
If you’d like to get involved helping out please catch one of us in the playground or let the office know.
PWPS also have their own easyfundraising.org.uk page, where you can raise money for the school whenever you purchase things online! Sign up for free by clicking on the banner below to help us raise funds for the school.
