Year 4 Class Visit to the Viking Experience
Dear Parents and Carers of Year 4,
Year 4 Visit to the Viking Experience in London - Thursday 7th May 2026
As I know many of you are aware, we have a very exciting class trip coming up to the Viking Experience in London. This links in perfectly to our History topics of this year and I know that the class are very enthused about the chance of going.
In order to travel there we will be using public transport.
- Step 1 - National Rail from Ware Train Station, travelling to Tottenham Hale.
- Step 2 - Underground from Tottenham Hale, to Green Park on the Victoria Line
- Step 3 - Underground from Green Park to Canada Water on the Jubilee Line
- Step 4 - Walking to the Viking Experience (about 3 minutes!)
This travel forms a huge part of our trip too - continuing to learn about the life skills involved in using public transport and how to stay safe while travelling.
Owing to the times of the trains, children need to be bought in to school for registration at 8.15am,we will return back to school for a 3.30pm collection. This means a slightly longer day for the children but the experiences will be worth it!
Children will need to bring a packed lunch with them (no chocolate, nuts or fizzy drinks please). They will need to wear their school uniform and comfortable shoes. Please let the school office know if you would like the school to prepare a packed lunch for you. We would also recommend packing one extra healthy snack to have just after our arrival in London.
The voluntary cost of this trip is £24.20 per child, payment should be made on Arbor under trips by 30th April at the latest. Please note that if we do not receive enough voluntary contributions the trip may not go ahead. Please contact the school office if you would like a payment plan for the trip.
We will also need some parent volunteers for the trip. I know some of you are thinking about it as word has got out about the trip but if you could please email admin@priorswood.herts.sch.uk if you can still volunteer, I will be able to review numbers when I have them.
With thanks for your continued support and if you have any questions about this trip, please let me know.
Mr Frecknall
