Year 3 Egyptian Day

Dear Parents & Carers of Year 3 Children,

FRIDAY 16TH MAY YEAR 3 EGYPTIAN DAY

To link in with our History topic of The Ancient Egyptians, Year 3 will be having a ‘Day in the life of an Ancient Egyptian’ on Friday the 16th May, where the children will take part in a range of art, drama and history activities designed to help them to consolidate their knowledge of this period in history.

Children will participate in various activities throughout the day including learning about what happens following the death of a Pharaoh: tomb building; mummification; burial ceremonies and the crowning of the new Pharaoh.

We would love for the children to dress up for Egyptian Day. Their teachers will also be joining in! The children can be Egyptologists or Ancient Egyptians.

EGYPTOLOGISTS: jeans or shorts, wacky jumper or t-shirt and hat

ANCIENT EGYPTIANS: ready-made Egyptian outfits are readily available on the Internet e.g. Cleopatra, Pharaohs, mummies, slaves etc.

These outfits will be worn again during our class assembly on Thursday the 22nd May at 2:30pm.

The children are still to bring a packed lunch or order their hot dinner as normal.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Edwards
